Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
– Matthew 11:28-30
Are you feeling weary? Tired? Unloved? Lonely? Hopeless?
Have any of these emotions taken up residence in your everyday?
I know they did for me..
Many times in my life I have gone in search of a way to overcome these feelings. Many times I have tried to make it through by my own strength, and my own will, only to fall down even further than before.
There had always been a real longing in my heart, but I could never understand why. I would try one thing after the next, in order to fulfill it, but there was never any change. I was just always left with that same empty hole.
Year after year, I continued to walk down that same path, filled with so much disappointment, so much confusion, so much emptiness. Many times I would believe I was finally going to get where I wanted to go, but over and over I found myself back at that same hopeless destination.
Many weary days, many tear-filled nights..
And then, something changed.. It was like a light shone in, and the fog that had been obstructing my view for so long, finally disappeared. And what I found in its place was hope, joy, and the love that my heart had been searching for all along. I found the love of a Savior. A love of a King.
I found a love that continued to pursue me even though I resisted, time and time again. A love that never, ever left my side, even when there was no longer a reason to stay, and a love that wouldn’t give up on me, regardless of how “unworthy” I was.
Yes, this love was different.. unlike anything I had ever known.. So far from ordinary, and nothing resembling anything in this world. It wasn’t fleeting, or temporary, oh no, this love was forever.
It took my broken heart, and made it new. It took every tear I cried, and replaced them with joy, with peace, with redemption. This love healed my bruises, my aches, and my hurt. It doesn’t expect perfection, but instead, looks beyond every flaw.
This love will never fail. It is unshakable, it is unmovable, it is eternal.
Does this sound like the love you’ve been searching for? Here are 24 more characteristics of The Lord’s love for His children..

So, my sweet friend, are you in the same place I was? If you are searching for a way off that heartbreaking path, I need you to know there is hope. But it is not going to come in the form of a relationship, a new job, or a change of circumstance. No, this hope, it is real, it is true, it is lasting, and it has been waiting for you all along.. You just need to turn around. Your Savior is right there, patiently knocking at the door of your heart, waiting for the day that you will let Him in.
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in unto him and sup with him, and he with me.
– Revelations 3:20
No need to keep pushing through this life anymore, just trying to find a way to cope.. No need to spend another moment feeling hopeless, feeling lonely, feeling unloved.
Jesus is there, and He is reaching out His hand to you, won’t you take it?
I know how hard this life can be. The struggles, the heartaches, and the trials, they have beat me down, too.
But, listen my friend, you no longer have to try to overcome them by your own strength.
If you just take His hand, if you just embrace the sweet love of the Savior, I promise He will make a way.. Jesus will always make a way.
I want you to know, this love is not reserved for the “worthy”, the “perfect”, or the “elite”.. it is offered to anyone who would believe in Jesus Christ, accept Him as their Lord and Savior, and invite Him into their heart.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
– Romans 10:9-10
There is nothing in this life that can ever compare to the love of Jesus Christ. It is the only road that leads to healing, to restoration, and to redemption. If you are going through any heartache, fear, stronghold, struggle, or circumstance, remember, it will never be too much for His love to overcome.
So, if you have felt like there is something missing in your heart, if you have felt a longing in your soul..
Look to Jesus. Cry out to Him, seek His beautiful face.. He is waiting to welcome you with open arms.
Can you think of any other qualities of His beautiful love?
Let me know in the comments.
And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
