My dear sister in Christ,
Are you exhausted? Is your heart weary? Are the expectations of this life weighing heavy on you?
Continuously, you are told that you need to become the best mom, the best wife, the best Christian.. and don’t forget to make sure that your house is clean, the food you’re feeding your family is of the highest quality, and you always look runway-ready.
Believe me, I hear you, it’s a lot. As moms, we do and we do and we do for our loved ones, and although we wouldn’t trade this precious job that we’ve been given, sometimes we are the ones in need of a little love, a little care, a little rest..
Lately, my anxiety has been through the roof. Each day there seems to be more added to my list, more expectations thrown on my shoulders, more areas of my life that I’m supposed to better. By the time night roles around, I’m tired, exhausted, and completely drained. I try to find a moment to catch my breath, to find some calm, but then.. the children are demanding my attention, the dishes need to be done, and the living room is a complete mess.
So, where are we to turn when this life is pushing us to our limits. Where do we find rest for our worn out heart?
Open your Bible, my sweet friend.. God’s Word is able. His Word will renew your strength, His Word will give you hope, His Word will remind you that, although your load may feel too heavy, you don’t have to bare it alone. Look to Jesus to strengthen you, to provide for you, to supply you with all that you need. This life may be tiring, but lean in to the love of the Savior, and find rest in His sweet embrace.
Here are 30 Scriptures that remind me, that even on those trying days, His unfailing love always remains..
Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

So the next time that you feel completely overwhelmed by life and everything that comes along with it.. just remember, you have a mighty God, who is able and willing to help you through every challenge, obstacle or circumstance you may face. Being a wife and a mom comes with a lot of wonderful responsibilities, but there are times when our biggest responsibility is to stop focusing on the other tasks that we have to do, and instead, seek The Lord.. Take time to be in His presence, and just be still. Ignore the chaos going on around you, open the precious Word of God, and let The Lord renew your mind, restore your joy, and refresh your soul.
